About

Dzanc Books was founded in 2006 to advance great writing and champion those writers who don't fit neatly into the marketing niches of for-profit presses. As a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, Dzanc Books not only publishes excellent books of literary fiction, but works in partnership with literary journals to advance their readership at every level. Dzanc is also fully committed to developing educational programs in the schools and has begun organizing many such workshops and Writers In Residency programs. The authors already signed by Dzanc are extraordinary, award winning talents, including Roy Kesey, Yannick Murphy, Peter Markus, Laura van den Berg, Dawn Raffel, and Jeff Parker. All Dzanc authors not only receive contracts and monetary compensation commensurate with the best literary houses, but the personal attention shown to each author by Dzanc - including reviews, book tours and intimate involvement in every step of the publishing process - clearly makes Dzanc unique.

Dzanc to rEprint John Domini

As part of Dzanc Books rEprint Series, Dzanc is please to announce the signing of John Domini to a four book deal.  Dzanc will publish in eBook Domini's seminal works, including an updated version of his short story collection, Bedlam (with two additional stories added to the original print version), as well as the story collection, Highway Trade, and his two great novels--Talking Heads:77, and Earthquake I.D.

Domini’s work has been called writing that “seduces and wounds” and that which from www.johndomini.com“captures all the subversive possibilities of language in a kaleidoscope of vibrant sound and image.” Domini has worked as a visiting writer at many universities, including Harvard and Northwestern. He makes his home in Des Moines, Iowa.

“John Domini is an exciting talent,” Dan Wickett said. “We at Dzanc really became aware of his work with the publication of Earthquake I.D. and have kept in touch with him since then.  He’s very passionate about literature beyond his own writing, regularly reviewing and contributing essays to the landscape.  We are proud to add him to our rEprint roster.”
