Philip F. Deaver


Philip F. Deaver is a fiction writer originally from Illinois. He won the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction, had a story published in Prize Stories: The O. Henry Awards, and has been recognized in Best American Short Stories and the Pushcart Prize XX. He’s held fellowships from Bread Loaf and the National Endowment for the Arts. His work continues to appear in the literary magazines, including most recently The Southern Review and the Kenyon Review. Philip also publishes poetry and creative nonfiction. He is Professor of English and Writer in Residence at Rollins College and teaches fiction and poetry in the Spalding brief residency MFA program.
