When Blackness Was a Virtue is Jaffe’s fourth novel. He’s also the author of Whirlwind, Skateaway and Dance Real Slow, which was adapted into the Twentieth Century Fox Film A Cool, Dry Place, featuring Vince Vaughn. In addition, Jaffe is a journalist who spent more than a decade on staff at Sports Illustrated. He received his M.F.A. in creative writing from Columbia University. Currently, he lives in Ohio with his two daughters.
